CURRIE 47, HAWICK 3
It was always going to be a tough mission to go to
Malleny Park and come away with any sort of result and
this certainly proved to be the case when Currie gained
revenge for the last minute defeat inflicted by Hawick
earlier in the season.
Hawick managed to hold Currie for the opening quarter of
the match, a Craig Neish penalty was all that was
scored. Three Currie tries gave the home side a 19-3
lead at halftime but at this stage Hawick were still in
the game.
It was the third quarter that did the damage to Hawick
when Currie centre MacMahon scored another three tries
to put the home out of site. Another try in stoppage
time saw Currie win by 47 points to 3.
With the Christmas break now in place and the next
league match not until the 5th January against
Boroughmuir, it is perhaps time to take stock and
regroup before the last six league matches in this
seasons campaign.
